The weekend was a sample that winter has arrived. We got the shovels out early. Now it stays for a white Christams.

Some of the churches had services cancelled on Sunday due to the weather. It also was bad for the folks who planned on Saturday Christmas shopping.

This week will have folks busy baking all those good Christmas cookies. We hope the weather will be nice so families can get together for the special occasion. Also take time to realize what we are really celebrating. Had it not been for the birth of the Savior this special day wouldn’t be happening.

We are sorry to hear Mr. and Mrs. Bush had the misfortune of losing their livestock barn due to fire recently.

A nice group attended the Hustontown Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary’s Christams party last week. A covered dish meal was served, with the fire company folks furnishing the meat.

Glad to hear Charles Shotts is home. We send recovery wishes to him.

I guess the school students have started their Christams vacation and will be off until January 4. Enjoy your holiday vacation.

A group from Knobsville United Methodist Church spent some time last Sunday with the folks at Leisure Living at Fort Littleton. They shared gifts and refreshments with those folks. It is a joy to spend time with folks who are unable to be out and about. Sorry I wasn’t able to attend.

Household hint: Make that empty milk jug useful. Make a handy dispenser for your plastic grocery bags from a clean plastic jug. Cut a hole about four inches in diameter in the side. When you have emptied the groceries, push bags in the container one at a itme. When needed they will be easy to pull out.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
