Warfordsburg Woman Involved In Crash

A Warfordsburg woman escaped injury during a single-vehicle crash in Bethel Township on November 24. According to state police, 49-year-old Renata E. Parrino lost control of her 1999 Volkswagen Passat, causing it to strike the right side of a parapet at 7:25 p.m. The vehicle travelled over the parapet and down a small embankment. Parrino was wearing a seat belt. She will be charged with driving a vehicle at safe speeds.

Miniature Horse Suffers Gunshot Wound

A tan miniature horse suffered a gunshot wound through the right front shoulder while at 870 Stahl Road, Warfordsburg, on Monday, December 7, at 1:29 p.m. The owner of the wounded horse is a 42-year-old man. Hit-And-Run Vehicle Sought

State police, McConnellsburg, are looking for a dark-colored, large truck responsible for a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Sipes Mill Road and Route 30 last Tuesday evening.

The truck made a wide righthand turn onto Sipes Mill Road and struck a 2006 Kia Sportage driven by Mary A. Gerst, 61, of Pittsburgh. Gerst was stopped at the stop sign of Sipes Mill Road when the crash occurred at 6:43 p.m.

Gerst and her passengers Cynthia D. Martsolf, 57, Hookstown, and Roland B. McFarland, 59, of Carnegie were all wearing seat belts and escaped injury. DUI Arrest Made In Hit-And-Run Crash

A Needmore man faces charges of driving under the influence after his vehicle was sideswiped along Route 30 near the intersection of Black Bear Road over the weekend.

According to state police, 23- year-old Joseph Len Netz of Needmore has been charged with driving under the influence in connection with the December 12 accident. He was transported to the Franklin County Prison following the 2:35 a.m. collision for a probation-violation hearing and multiple warrants issued for unpaid citations and fines.

Netz was attempting to pass a green truck when it sideswiped his yellow Ford Mustang. Following impact, both vehicles spun out of control. Netz’s car was disabled, but the truck left the scene.

Charges Pending In Drug Case

State police, McConnellsburg, reported drug charges are pending against two Pittsburgh area residents following the receipt of results from crime lab tests. State police seized suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, prescription pills and six boxes of untaxed cigarettes from a vehicle stopped along Interstate 70 on Thursday, December 10, at 1:38 p.m. Those slated to be charged are Charles Albert Petticord, 65, of Pittsburgh and Macharia Lavette Jones, 35, East Pittsburgh.

Money Taken In Burglary

Approximately $2,000 in cash was stolen from a plastic bottleshaped bank between December 1 and December 10, state police reported. The victim, a 31- year-old Warfordsburg area man, informed state police two tin boxes and a Tootsie Roll bank were also taken during the burglary at 4918 Great Cove Road in Bethel Township. Needmore Man Cited For Assault

A Needmore man is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and harassment as a result of an argument near 8781 Great Cove Road, Needmore. Forty-one-year-old Ronald Edwin Lucas of Needmore allegedly pointed a .40 caliber pistol at a 25-year-old Needmore man on Saturday, December 12, at 5:30 p.m. State police said the men were arguing over a hunting incident and property dispute before Lucas reportedly shot in the vicinity of the 25- year-old victim. The victim was not injured in the incident.

Car Rolls Onto Roof

A 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix ran into a ditch and rolled onto its roof along Flickerville Road in Brush Creek Township last Thursday. Becky B. Runyon, 37, of Needmore was not injured in the 4:45 p.m. accident. She was wearing a seat belt and will be charged by state police with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Mailbox Damaged

A metal mailbox and pole located at 5895 Cito Road, Mc- Connellsburg, were damaged between 11 p.m. on December 8 and 6 a.m. on December 9. The victim is a 38-year-old woman, and damage has been estimated at $30. Tractor-Trailer Rolls Over

A 1995 Freightliner tractortrailer rolled onto its side Sunday morning after crossing into the median strip of Interstate 70. According to state police, Juvier Almeida, 42, of Miami, Fla., lost control of his truck at 7:20 a.m. on the icy roadway. Almeida was wearing a seat belt and escaped harm. He will be charged with driving a vehicle at safe speeds.

Missing Juvenile Found With Pills

A 15-year-old girl who was reported as having ran away from her McConnellsburg home was found on December 6 in possession of prescription pills. State police are continuing to investigate the matter, and charges will be determined in the near future.

Police Search For Runaway

State police, McConnellsburg, are searching for the whereabouts of a missing 15- year-old girl who ran away from Extended Family Services at 301 East Maple Street, McConnellsburg, on Friday, December 11, at 2:50 p.m. Angel Lynn Keller was last seen wearing blue jeans, black jacket, white blouse, white sneakers and carrying a lightblue cotton bag. She is 5 feet, 3 inches, weighs 120 pounds and has blonde hair. State police said anyone concealing Keller’s whereabouts or harboring her will be subject to criminal charges.

Lawn Ornament Taken

A white reindeer lawn ornament with lights was stolen from a yard located at 475 East Maple Street, McConnellsburg, between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Monday, December 14. The ornament has been valued at $60. DUI Checkpoint Scheduled

State police, McConnellsburg will be conducting a driving under-the-influence checkpoint in Fulton County between December 18 and December 19. All motorists are reminded to drink responsibly and always utilize a designated driver.

Firearms Stolen

Nine firearms were stolen from 348 R&R Farm Lane, Mc- Connellsburg, between 11:30 p.m. on December 13 and 6:15 a.m. on December 14. The victim is a 71-year-old Mc- Connellsburg man.
