Police: Conn. Men Ran Pa. Counterfeiting Scheme
BENSALEM, Pa. (AP) – Four Connecticut men are charged with running a counterfeiting operation out of a suburban Philadelphia motel room.
Police in Bensalem say the men were caught after one of them called to report that someone had stolen merchandise from him at a nearby mall. Investigators say they later discovered the man had been passing bogus bills.
The suspect led police to a motel room where they say the found a photocopier, fake currency and bags of merchandise.
The man are facing forgery and other charges. They are each being held on $500,000 bail.
It was unclear if the men had retained attorneys.
