Southern Fulton volleyball team recently held a “Spike-Out Cancer” event. Throughout the month of October, the players and coaches sold shirts to raise money for the American Cancer Society, specifically to go towards breast cancer research.

On November 12 the team competed against members of the faculty, and the game was open for the community to attend. Through T-shirt sales, purchases of cards displayed in memory and honor of those who have or have had cancer and donations, the team raised slightly more than $2,800.

Fulton County Medical Center sponsored the event as well as displayed information for community awareness. Melissa Mackel was the coordinator for the event.
