Gingerbread House Decorating Sweetens Christmas For Kids
Simple Acts of Kindness sponsored its first kids’ gingerbread house decorating contest on Saturday, December 5, at the Fulton Theatre as part of the “Christmas in McConnellsburg” festivities.
A little more than 100 kids ranging in age from four years to 12 participated in the event. They were given a preconstructed gingerbread house, a bag of candy, and pink, green and white icing. Contestants had to design their own creation using these supplies. Houses were judged and prizes given to first-, second- and third-place winners in three age groups as well as a crowd-selected People’s Choice Award. Winning gingerbread houses are on display this week at the Fulton County Library.
