Goldie M. DeShong

McConnellsburg, 98

Goldie May DeShong, 98, a resident of Fulton County Medical Center Long-Term Care Unit and formerly of McCon-nellsburg, died Monday, November 23, 2009, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.

She was born in Strawberry Ridge, Pa., on September 7, 1911, the daughter of the late Russell T. and Elizabeth (Unger) Carbaugh. She was the widow of George Preston DeShong, whom she married on May 30, 1928. He passed away on October 21, 1967.

She attended Dublin Mills Community Church, services at Fulton County Medical Center, was a former employee of Fulton County Medical Center and was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughter Lois Jean Hess, McConnellsburg; sons: Donald R. DeShong of Mc- Connellsburg; Marvin L. DeShong, Hustontown; Harold E. DeShong of McConnellsburg; 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and one great-greatgreat grandchild.

She was preceded in death by son Robert Blaine DeShong; sister Hilda Kendall; brother Clarence Carbaugh and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2009. Pastor Sam Stoey and Pastor Richard Bernhard officiated. Interment was at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.
