Reward Offered For Tips In Horse Shooting

YORK, Pa. (AP) – A Pennsylvania man is offering a reward for information about who shot and killed his horse.

John Krick says his 6-year-old Palomino gelding, Firecracker, was shot in the eye last weekend in Krick’s pasture.

Krick says what bothers him most is that Firecracker likely suffered for hours. The shooting happened last weekend between 11 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

He says the horse was blinded and thrashing on the ground. The horse died shortly after Krick found him.

The community has donated to a reward fund that’s grown to more than $1,000. Krick says he’ll donate the money to animal welfare groups if the case goes unsolved.
