Richard L. Wible

Richard L. Wible, 57, of Mc- Connellsburg, Pa., died at 9:20 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2009, at his home.

Born July 23, 1952, in Clay Twp., Huntingdon Co., Pa., he was a son of Fred M. and Dorothy (Greenland) Wible, who survive, of Waterfall. He was married to the former Joanne Volkman on August 27, 1977. She survives at their home.

Also surviving are two sisters: Carol Wible of McConnellsburg and Sharon L. Boynton and husband Gerald of O’Fallon, Ill. He will be remembered as a loving son, husband and brother.

He graduated from Forbes Road High School in 1970 and York College of Pennsylvania in 1975. He recently retired after serving Fulton County for 34 years. He began his career in the county’s agricultural extension and 4-H office, followed by more than 30 years as the chief clerk for the Fulton County commissioners. As the director of voter registration and elections, he supervised nearly 70 county, state and federal elections.

He had a keen sense of humor and loved to amuse his co-workers and friends with his countless array of toys and jokes. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, gardening, music trivia and spending time with his family.

In his youth he attended Cherry Grove Church of God, Three Springs, Pa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, with Rev. Donald Bard officiating. Interment will be made at Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Fulton Co. Library, 227 N. First St., Mc- Connellsburg, PA 17233, the American Cancer Society, Franklin/ Fulton Chapter, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to Lutheran Home Care & Hospice, Inc., 2700 Lutheran Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
