Abagael McGarvey, daughter of Tim and Deb McGarvey, observed her 10th anniversary on November 19 of receiving her second liver transplant. Abby is now 13 and is in seventh grade in Mc- Connellsburg Middle School and has good health, most of the time.

Holly, Haiden, Tyler and Will Madden from Atlanta, Ga.; Ryan, Lisa, Emily, Jared and Jan Deshong of Harrisonville; Scott and Sue Deshong and Larry and Chelsey Deshong of Mc- Connellsburg enjoyed an early Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Dot and Rod Kelly of Hustontown over the weekend.

Sarah Shaw sponsored a bus trip with local folks on Thursday to the American Music Theatre in Lancaster to see a Christmas show.

Sympathy goes to the families of Inez Barnett and Dick Wible who passed away last week.

Elizabeth Clippinger is now a resident in the long-term unit of Fulton County Medical Center.

The McConnellsburg girls soccer team, along with their coach Toby McGarvey and Tim McGarvey, Alan Kaplan and Jim Babinsack, attended the AAAAA boys and girls soccer state championships on Saturday in Hershey and visited Chocolate World. Others who went were Dena, Tessa, Hannah and Tobias McGarvey, Mariah Truax and Selena Strait.

Local students playing on the PA All-Star boys Public Opinion soccer team, who shut out Herald Mail’s All-Star team, were Trent Black of Forbes Road and Colby Sowers of McConnellsburg.

Public Opinion 2009 girls field hockey all-stars locally were first team – Kali Hockensmith and Megan Keller, Forbes Road; second team – Corey Parsons, Kelsey Lilley and Erin McQuait, all of Forbes Road. Honorable mention went to Samantha Clippinger, Forbes Road.

Siloam United Methodist church women held their Christmas dinner on Saturday, November 21. The dinner was made and served by the Asbury United Methodist women.

Sympathy goes out to the family of Vickie Bard Seville, who lost her life to cancer last Thursday at the young age of 49.

A fourth birthday party was held on Sunday at FOVA for Jaycie Moody. She is the daughter of Danny and Tammy Moody.
