Chamber Mixer Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is hosting a chamber mixer Friday, December 4, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Fulton Theatre. All chamber members and interested parties are invited to attend. This event will coincide with Christmas In McConnellsburg.
Christmas Recital The vocal and instrumental students of Richard Overcash will present a recital of solo and group selections for the Christmas season. The concert will take place Saturday, December 5, at 2:30 p.m., at Calvary Bible Church auditorium, 3845 Buchanan Trail West. All are welcome.
Line Dance Fulton County Line Dance Club will hold line dance sessions every Wednesday (except the first Wednesday of the month) beginning at 7:00 p.m. at VFW Post 655, Poplar Street, McConnellsburg. All are welcome. Come and learn some new steps. A $2 donation is appreciated.
Gingerbread House Contest A Child’s “Make and Take” Ginger Bread House Contest, for children ages 4 to 12 years will be held Saturday, December 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Fulton Theatre. Each child will be provided with a small gingerbread house and decoration supplies. Entries for each age group will be judged at 1 p.m. Winners of each category will be displayed at the newly renovated Fulton County Library. There is no admission fee, but donations will be accepted. Register at Fulton County Center for Families, any of the Fulton County libraries, Southern Fulton Elementary School office, McConnellsburg Elementary School office, or e-mail the child’s name, age and phone number to Syoungblood@sakindness.org. To ensure enough supplies for all participants, preregistration is strongly encouraged. Sponsored by Simple Act of Kindness, a community out-reach program of Christian Social Services.
Christmas In The Village The sixth annual Christmas In The Village will be held Sunday, December 6, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Fort Loudon Community Center. Caroling will be at 4:45 p.m., followed by Santa lighting the village Christmas tree at 5:00 p.m. The Charles Lindsay family will deliver Santa and his little elves, Sabrina Friese and Levi Peck, on a horse-drawn wagon. Visitors will be treated to free wagon rides and refreshments. The community center is located on Mullen Street.
Christmas Tree Show Christmas Tree Show sponsored by the Three Springs Historical Society will be held at the Three Springs ambulance building Saturday, November 28, from noon until 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 29, from noon until 4:00 p.m. Free refreshments will be available and door prizes will be awarded. Admission is free.
Christmas In McConnellsburg Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is hosting the annual Christmas In McConnellsburg. A wide variety of vendors and events will take place at the Fulton Theatre. Friday, December 4, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., shop for Christmas gifts and grab a bite to eat. Santa will appear for photos from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for $2. Caroling and fellowship will warm your hearts. Saturday, December 5, event hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Gingerbread making from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and judging will take place at 1:00 p.m. Uncle Clem and Jana will be at the theatre Saturday only from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with free wagon rides around town (weather permitting). Shop for Christmas tree, wreaths, bows and more with outside shopping as well.
Dodgeball Tournament McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Association will hold a dodgeball tournament Saturday, November 28, at the alumni community gym (old MHS gym.) Registration will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with the competition starting at 10:00 a.m. Teams must have at least six people. Only six members play at a time. How many teams enter will determine the type of tournament offered. Every team guaranteed to play at least two matches. If you want to play and cannot get a team together, call Mrs. Kendall and she will try to put one together for you.
