Man Steals 100 Copies Of Popular Video Game In Pa.
MEADVILLE, Pa. (AP) – Police are searching for a man who stole 100 copies of the wildly popular “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’’ video game from a western Pennsylvania store.
Police say the man entered the GameStop store in Meadville about 7 p.m. Tuesday and told clerks he had a friend waiting outside who would shoot them if they called police. The man then reached over the counter and took the games and a few other items worth about $6,900 total.
The game produced by Activision Blizzard Inc. went on sale Tuesday. In the first 24 hours, the game sold about 4.7 million copies in North America and the United Kingdom.
The game retails for $59.99 and has versions for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and personal computers.
