Christmas For Wounded Warriors

Veterans Day has passed and Christmas is just around the corner. The Franklin County Chapter of Red Cross will be collecting items for wounded warriors from now until December 11 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Each year the Walter Reed Center serves 150,000 active and retired personnel from all military departments.

If you would like to help make a Wounded Warrior’s Christmas a little brighter, you may drop off the following items at the Chambersburg Red Cross, 25 Penncraft Ave. Suite A, Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or the Waynesboro office, 323 East Main St., Monday and Wednesday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. or Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

New, unopened full-size toiletries, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, mouthwash, etc.;

New T-shirts any size or color;

Nondisposable razors and replacement blades;

Retail and grocery store gift cards, Visa or AmEx gift cards, international phone cards, 150 minutes or more.
