We just couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful weekend.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Ronald Henry, who passed away last week and also to the families and relatives of Inez Barnett, who also passed away and Ruth Memmi, who passed away on Sunday.

Herbert and Tammy Berkstresser returned home from a hunting trip out West.

Hustontown Area Fire co. will sponsor a hog shoot on Saturday, November 21 at 1:00 p.m. There will be 11 regular rounds to qualify for the shoot. Various meat prizes will be given away.

The fire company will sponsor an open stage Saturday, November 28, at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and share their talent. Smoke-free facility and free admission. Come out for an evening of entertainment.

Hustontown Fire Co. has large afghans also for sale which are available in cranberry, green and navy blue, depicting the history of Hustontown. Call 717-987- 3108 or 717-987-3115 to order.

The ladies auxiliary of the fire company is taking reservations for banquets for 2010. For more information, call Shirley at 987- 3913.

Household hint: Don’t discard the rind of lemons, grapefruit or oranges. They make excellent flavoring for muffins, cakes and frostings. Grate rinds and store in freezer.
