Buck Scores 170 Nontypical

Needmore resident Ross DeShong harvested this 15-point buck with two droptines and three brows on Saturday, October 31, in Belfast Township. The antlered deer’s interior spread measured 20 inches and was scored 170 nontypical and 155 typical by McConnellsburg resident Richard Strayer. DeShong wouldn’t say where exactly he harvested the deer, but did mention he was archery hunting between Harrisonville and Needmore at the time. The deer is an estimated 2-1/2 years old, and DeShong is slated to send it to the taxidermist for a full-body mount.
