Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

Hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weekend with all those beautiful fall colors.

We extend our sympathy to the family and relatives of Madelene Ulsh, who passed away last week.

We have some folks from the area on a hunting trip out in the Western states, so we wish them a lucky and safe trip.

Glad to report Mary Ann Hykes was able to be back out at church on Sunday.

The fall Sunday School Rally was held at Fairview United Methodist Church on Sunday, with Pastor Bill Kuhn as speaker.

Peter Rusack is doing well after surgery and his wife, Judith, is doing well also after arm surgery. Complete recovery wishes to them.

Pastor Bill and Joan Kuhn had the pleasure of having their grandchild with themfor the weekend.

Belated happy birthday wishes to Pat Berkstresser, November 11 and also happy birthday wishes to Dorothy Brant, November 12; Tim Mills, November 13; Rhonda Black, November 14; and Rebecca Grandi, November 23.

Congratulations to all those who were successful election winners last week. With a very poor turnout to vote, it seems a lot of folks were not concerned about who won the election.

Shooting matches will be starting at the Hustontown Firehall on Saturday, november 21 at 1:00 p.m. More info later.

Open stage the fourth Saturday of month at the firehall. Patronize the fire company and enjoy an evening of entertainment. The fire company will also have an auction November 13 at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m.

Household hint: Handy oil dispenser. Use a well-washed and rinsed detergent bottle. You’ll find that a squirt top makes pouring oil easier and less mess than dealing with a screw-on cap. Also it is less extravagate.
