County Youths Advance On KYFL Championship

In an impressive 36-0 shut out of the Fairfield Knights Saturday afternoon at SSVC field in Scotland, these Fulton County kids advance one step closer to the KYFL championship game. The Rockets employed a smothering, hard hitting defense, and a straight ahead “no frills” offense to score the shutout. These dedicated football players travel the mountain each day to play with the Mercersburg Youth Football and Cheeleading league as 13 years olds. Pictured above with the KYFL's regular season American Division championship trophy are: Matthew Snyder, TE/DE; Alex McClain, QB/DB; Nick Daniels, C/DE; Kyle Schoen, OG/DT; Hunter Horton, OT/NT; Dalton Garlock, RB/LB; Tyson Berkstresser, OT/DT; Tristan Chitole, OG/DT; Damon Schoen, line coach and Alex Ritchey, Varsity Cheerleader “flyer.” With this win, the Rockets advanced to the "final four" this weekend at the Greencastle High School versus the Shippensburg Greyhounds. Game time will be at 1 p.m. or 7 p.m., as the game time has yet to be announced. Information on the official game start time will be published later in the week at www.kyflfootball.com.
