Grissinger Family Holds Reunion
The familie of the late Allen and Adeline (Ott) Grissinger held their annual reunion June 28, 2009, at Dublin Mills Church pavilion, with 58 members attending.
President Denny Long called the families together, giving a blessing for the food and the hands that prepared it.
After a bountiful covered-dish lunch, a short business meeting was held, with Long presiding; Karen Ford did the devotions before the meeting began.
Officers are to remain the same again this year with President Long; Vice President Jim Grissinger and Secretary/Treasurer Pat Rankin.
Gifts were given to the following: eldest man - John Curfman (85); eldest woman - Mary Knepper (92); married longest - John and Jane Black (12/16/1960); most recently married - Jerret and Stephanie Myers (9/16/2006); youngest child - Chase Wilson (5/4/2009); and traveled the furthest - Barb and Howard Naugle (Sarver, Pa.).
The trophy changed hands this year with the family of Jesse having 22 members present. There were 21 members from Martin and Violet’s and 15 from Ira’s. There were no members from Harry, Clara or Philip’s family.
Those attending this year were James and Teresa Grissinger, Amanda Grissinger, Nick and Chase Wilson, Dan and Donna Varner, Jenicika Huntsman Varner, Kreiya and Sean McMath and Chester Grissinger from Huntingdon.
From Cassville were Heather, Aaron and Megan Kough, Larry and Emily McClain, Anna Stapleton, Wayne and Maxine Wright, Dale Ricakabaugh and Virda Lablonski. From Maple Deport, Pa.: Fern, Teresa and Ellen Naugle. From Fulton County: Louise and Gary Naugle, Stephanie and Jerret Meyers of Pasadena, Md.; Howard and Barbara Naugle of Sarver, Pa.; Nichole, Heather and Natalie Naugle, Allison Park, Pa.; Steve and Wanda Group and Carol Ramsey of Hustontown; John and Jane Black and Mary Knepper of McConnellsburg. From Three Springs: Barbara Hoffman, John Curfman Sr., John Curfman Jr., Mindy and Angie Curfman, Dennis and Sharon Long, and Carly Whitsel of Three Springs. Also attending were Fred and Violet Culler, Selinsgrove; Matt and Tera Hardy and Cynthia Grissinger, Shade Gap; Karen Grissinger Ford, Claysburg; Eva Cornelius and Pat Rankin, Chambersburg; Dorothy and Coy Spade, Needmore; and Gene Rankin, Blairs Mills.
The 2010 reunion will be held June 27 at Dublin Mills Community Church pavilion. Wanda Group will be taking a group picture again.
