Get well wishes to Ryan Fleck, Viola “Sis” Pollock, Inez Barnett, Mary Mort, Dick Rhoades, Tom and Linda McMath, and Patti Grissinger.

Toryn Locke is recovering from a sports-inflicted fracture. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Brian, Emily and Micah Ramsey visited with Roger and Pat Ramsey on Sunday. Ronnie Horne visited with the Ramseys on Saturday evening.

Donna Locke, Nora, Ruth and Tammy Grissinger, Destinie Ramsey and Tracey Schmidt attended a basket bingo for the Relay For Life Ridge Runners on Sunday at the Shade Gap Auxiliary Building. Some lucky players went home with a few nice prizes, while others were happy to just visit with their neighbors.

Jody Hann and Karen Grissinger visited with Shirley Henry last week. Shirley is feeling much better after having to make a visit to the emergency room.

Donna and Ruth Grissinger were shopping in Altoona on Friday.

Shooting matches will be held every Saturday at Hustontown Firehall until further notice. This year a five-round shoot for youths will be held after the regular shoot. Shooters must be 16 years and under to participate and be accompanied by parent or guardian.

A pie and soup sale is scheduled at the Clear Ridge Community Building for October 29.

Three Springs Fire Co. will be holding a chicken and waffles dinner on Sunday, November 15, beginning at 11 a.m.

Visiting with Steve, Karen, Terri and Tammy Grissinger this week were Andy Mills, Buzz and Bea Covert, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Ramon Martin, Brent Carlson, Mike, Chris and Kevin Pintozzi and Travis Madden.

Kristi and Kenny Watkins and friends attended the Penn State vs. Michigan game on Saturday in Michigan.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff visited with Stanley and Sue Hall on Friday evening.

Terri Grissinger and four students from Huntingdon Area High School attended the National FFA Convention this past week in Indianapolis, Ind.

Tammy Grissinger and other Chambersburg Hospital employees were honored for years of service on Thursday evening at a dinner in Chambersburg.

A Christmas bazaar will be held December 5 and 6 at the Shade Gap Ladies Auxiliary Building. Hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gift wrapping will be done for donation. Warm soups, sandwiches and beverages will be for sale. If you didn’t purchase gifts, but have some to wrap just drop them off, get a bite to eat and have them wrapped while you wait. Interested vendors can contact Tami at 717-485-3968 before November 23. Limited space is available, so please call early.

A fall ladies retreat is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the former Saltillo United Methodist Church. There will be music and speakers with lunch provided. Please call Pam at 814-448-2385 to reserve a spot.

This weekend is full of events. Halloween arrives on Saturday evening. It is also time to turn our clocks back and regain that hour of sleep we lost this spring. On Monday full moon occurs and Tuesday is Election Day. Full moon and election do not even belong in the same sentence.
