Shooting matches will be held every Saturday at Hustontown Firehall until further notice. This year a five-round shoot for youths will be held after the regular shoot. Shooters must be 16 years and under to participate and be accompanied by parent or guardian.
A pie and soup sale is scheduled at the Clear Ridge Community Building for October 29.

A Christmas bazaar will be held December 5 and 6 at the Shade Gap Ladies Auxiliary Building. Hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gift wrapping will be done for donation. Warm soups, sandwiches and beverages will be for sale. This weekend is full of events. Halloween arrives on Saturday evening. It is also time to turn our clocks back and regain that hour of sleep we lost this spring. On Monday full moon occurs and Tuesday is Election Day. Full moon and election do not even belong in the same sentence.
