Boys Soccer

Northern Bedford 3,

Forbes Road 2

Trent Black and Dillen Burger both rallied for goals during Forbes Road’s 3-2 loss to Northern Bedford Monday night. Black added an assist during the Sideling Hill League game, while Tanner Henry recorded eight saves in goal.

Hyndman 4, McConnellsburg 2

A 2-2 tie was broken wide open following the halftime break Monday when Hyndman pulled away for the 4-2 Sideling Hill League win over McConnellsburg. Nathan Swope connected for both of the Spartansí goals and got an assist from Codey Christy. Goalie Dillan Hollinshead made three saves in goal for the Spartans.

McConnellsburg 7, Everett 2

McConnellsburg rallied for seven goals in the opening half of last Thursday’s Sideling Hill League match and cruised onto a 7-2 victory over the Everett Warriors. Colby Sowers led his Spartan teammates with three goals, and Jesse Swope and Codey Christy both added two. Those having assists were J. Swope, Sowers, Christy, Nathan Swope and Robbie Christopher.

Forbes Road 2, Chestnut Ridge 1

Trent Black rallied to score two goals for the Forbes Road Cardinals during a 2-1 victory over Chestnut Ridge last Wednesday evening. Black was assisted on one of the goals by teammate Dillen Burger. Tanner Henry made two saves in goal.

Berlin 3, McConnellsburg 0

Dillan Hollinshead made five saves in goal last Tuesday for the McConnellsburg Spartans, who fell to Berlin by the final score of 3-0. The Spartans season record dropped to 5-6-1 with the nonleague loss.

Junior High Soccer

Southern Fulton 2, Windber 2

Last Wednesday’s non-league match against Windber ended in a 2-2 tie for Southern Fulton, which received both goals from Indian Mason Bard. The tie brings the Indians’ season record to 3-3-3.

Girls Soccer

Berlin 8, McConnellsburg 2

Berlin scored four goals in each half of last Thursday’s nonleague game to decisively down McConnellsburg 8-2. Libby Strayer and Morgan Barclay each had a goal, and Casey Pollock totalled two assists. Goalie Sam McQuade blocked 15 shots for the Lady Spartans.

Boys Cross-Country

Chestnut Ridge 22,

Southern Fulton 33

J.C. Munson took top honors for Southern Fulton against Chestnut Ridge on Tuesday, placing first with a time of 18:56. Zane Baker was fifth with a time of 19:59, while teammate Tim Rohm garnered an eighth-place finish with an overall time of 20:46.

Girls Cross-Country

Southern Fulton 15,

Chestnut Ridge 50

Southern Fulton clinched the top four positions against Chestnut Ridge Tuesday for a 15-50 victory. Alex Zanella took first with 22:02, and Jenna Hollenshead was second with a time of 22.22. Lacey Beatty and Mariah Hill placed third and fourth respectively, while Taelor Morton was sixth overall with a time of 27:58.

Field Hockey

Southern Huntingdon 3,

Forbes Road 2

Tied at 2-2, Southern Huntingdon prevailed over Forbes Road in overtime, winning Tuesday’s Keystone League game 3- 2. Kaili Hockensmith and Emily Karczewski both had goals for the Lady Cardinals, and Corri Parsons, Megan Keller and Katherine Berkstresser each had having assists. Leah Summers blocked four shots in goal.

McConnellsburg 3,

Southern Fulton 2

McConnellsburg and Southern Fulton stretched out last Tuesday’s Sideling Hill League match into a total of five sets, with the Lady Spartans prevailing 3-2. A’Leese Dickerson made 32 kills, 12 digs and 10 aces, while Emily Watkins totalled seven kills and 14 digs. Valerie Green followed with five kills and 18 digs. Lisa DeShong posted 45 assists and 18 digs, and Courtney DeShong added 15 digs and nine aces.

McConnellsburg 3,

Northern Bedford 2

McConnellsburg fought back from a one-set deficit to down Northern Bedford by the score of 3-2 last Thursday evening. A’Leese Dickerson tallied 25 kills and 11 digs, and Emily Watkins followed with 13 kills and 14 digs. Lisa DeShong added 37 assists, and Valerie Green posted 12 digs.

Tussey Mountain 3,

Southern Fulton 2

Southern Fulton jumped out to a two-set lead last Thursday but eventually fell to the Tussey Mountain Titans last Thursday by the final score of 3-2. Brittany Strait and Kristen Miller posted 14 and 13 service points, respectively, while Rachel Norris produced 11 digs. Cierra Covalt and Jenna Ritz led the assist category with seven and six, respectively, while Alexis Knisely tallied 12 kills.

Southern Fulton 3, Shanksville 1

Jenna Ritz totalled five kills to lead the Southern Fulton Indians to a 3-1 victory over Shanksville Monday evening. Teammate Cierra Covalt dished out 10 assists, and Rachel Norris and Ashley Sigel had 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Kristen Miller followed with one block, 21 service points and one ace, while Masey Brown had 10 service points.
