Green Hill Sewing Club’s Apple Butter Boil

Although weekend rains delayed the Green Hill Sewing Club’s apple butter boil for a day, the ladies and their helpers were out on Sunday to finish off their apples for the season. The club boiled 20 kettles of apple butter over the past three weekends. Each kettle yields 18 gallons of the popular treat that is sold in quarts, pints and half-pints to festival-goers and other regular customers. The Sewing Club has been boiling apple butter since 1933.
