The weather wasn’t very nice for the fall festival weekend but at least Sunday was nice.

Hustontown Fire Co. reported a very good crowd for the Sunday meal. Also, they wish to thank all who worked and helped make it a success. Also, a thank-you to those who donated desserts or whatever.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Brian DeShong on the arrival of a daughter last week.

Earl and Pat Berkstresser enjoyed having their nephew, Josh Myers of Wallaceton, spend the week with them and helping to get ready for the festival at the barn. Others who helped were Shawn and Jackie Berkstresser, Brooke Sheeder and Aaron Koons.

June Bennett and grandson Michael Torcasco spent Saturday with Kate Berkstresser. Michael enjoyed the day with Ryan Berkstresser at the barn on Saturday and also with Josh.

Congratulations to Brandon and Tracey (Gelvin) Fletcher on the birth of a son, Cole, last week.

We send speedy recovery wishes to Peter Rusack and James Ott, who were having surgery on Monday of this week.

Flu shots will be available at Hustontown Senior Center on October 29 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The quilt show at Fulton Theatre was a real enjoyment to those who enjoy quilting art. Also, if you would like to learn more about the Fulton County quilt meeting, they meet the third Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m., at the theatre building.

Household hint: It is an advantage to let your water from faucets stand to reach room tempterature before watering your houseplants. This prevents cold shock to your plants. Also, be careful not to over-water plants. Sometimes over-wating does more harm than a little. An over-watered plant will cause roots to rot sooner.
