Historical Society Raffle
Second prize in the Historical Society’s raffle drawing is an original framed watercolor by Tom Duffey of the round barn that stood on the Marl Garlock farm along Route 522 about five miles north of McConnellsburg. Built by Jacob Mellott (born 1869) for dairy farmer Willis Mellott in the summer of 1925, Fulton County News reported it “is the talk of the whole county.”
Third prize are eight holiday postcards postmarked 1908-11 and mailed to Fulton County families. Fourth prize is an antique cheese box handpainted and lined by Esther Miller. Fifth prize is a mint unsold copy of the 1936 Sesquicentennial of Mc- Connellsburg book.
All items will be on display at the Fulton House, with tickets available during the festival. Proceeds from the donated items will benefit the Fulton County Historical Society.
