Mae Mann, along with her daughter, Judy Pressel of Plano, Texas, and children Stacey and Chris White and Dustin Pressell of Frisco, Texas, attended the wedding of Mae’s granddaughter Wendy Souders and Jason Caggiano on Saturday, September 26 at the Fiore Vineyard in Plysville, Md. Wendy is the daughter of Duane and Nancy Souders of Wells Tannery.

Congratulations to Kylie Zittle and Hunter Miller who were named queen and king at the first annual Spartan homecoming at McConnellsburg High School Friday, October 9. Silver champions were Devin Welsh and Nico Zong, and bronze winners were Rachel Kendall and Clayton Garlock.

Public Opinion honor roll student athletes are Dillen Burger - Forbes Road soccer; A’Leese Dickerson - McConnellsburg volleyball; Casey Pollock - Mc- Connellsburg soccer, and Jesse Swope - McConnellsburg soccer.

Don’t forget the Fulton Fall Folk Festival this weekend, with a parade on Saturday morning in town and good food all over the county.

Toby,Dena, Hannah and Tobias McGarvey attended the ladies soccer game between Penn State Altoona, Lady Lions and the Medaille Lady Mavericks on Saturday in Altoona with the Mavericks winning 2-1 in overtime. Erin Chafardon, a graduate and former soccer player of McConnellsburg High School, plays for the Penn State Altoona Lady Lions.

Lynn Miller, Wilbur Anderson and Alma Anderson visited with Lynn’s daughter and husband and new grandson of Dublin Mills last week for a couple of days.

John and Harriet Warsing observed their fifth wedding anniversary on October 9.

A surprise 58th birthday party was held for Betty Jo Lynch recently given by her family and held at her nephew, Tuck’s home. The theme of the party was “Elvis Presley.” Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the delicious food which was prepared by her family. Attending were family members and friends.

The McConnellsburg cheerleaders would like to congratulate Sandy Deshong on winning the Schwinn bike.Thanks to all who helped us to raise money for the program.
