Boys Cross-Country

Southern Fulton 19, Juniata Valley 44

Southern Fulton 19, West Branch 38

Southern Fulton’s crosscountry squad downed both Juniata Valley and West Branch last Thursday in Alexandria, with J.C. Munson taking top honors with a time of 18:48. Fellow Indian Zane Baker finished in third place after recording a time of 20:04. Zach Swope had a fifthplace finish with his time of 20:40.

Girls Cross-Country

Juniata Valley 15, Southern Fulton 50

Jenna Hollenshead finished last Thursday’s cross-country meet with a first-place time of 21.46 but it wasnít enough for Southern Fulton to prevail over Juniata Valley. Lacey Beatty garnered a third-place win with a time of 22:51, and Maria Hill was fifth after crossing the finish line at 24:50.

Field Hockey

Forbes Road 5, Southern Huntingdon 3

Kaili Hockensmith managed two goals for the Forbes Road Lady Cardinals last Thursday during a 5-2 Keystone League victory over the Southern Huntingdon Rockets. Sammie Clippinger, Corri Parsons and Kelsey Lilley all added a goal, and Hockensmith and Megan Keller both produced assists. Jess Gearhart and Leah Summers totalled one and five saves, respectively.

Belleville Mennonite 3, Forbes Road 1

Forbes Road picked up its fourth straight defeat last Tuesday with a disappointing 3-1 loss to rivals from Belleville Mennonite. Kelsey Lilley had the team’s only goal on an assist from Corri Parsons. Leah Summers blocked two shots in goal for the Lady Cardinals.

Girls Soccer

McConnellsburg 2, Johnstown Christian 0

McConnellsburg’s season record evened out at five wins and five losses Monday with a 2- 0 win over Johnstown Christian. Goalkeeper Sam McQuade registered five saves during the game for the shutout, while Casey Pollock led the offensive effort with two goals. Libby Strayer and Nikki Fleming each added an assist.

McConnellsburg 1, Northern Bedford 0

McConnellsburg edged out Northern Bedford 1-0 last Friday, with Spartan Casey Pollock producing the game-winning goal in the 75th minute of the Sideling Hill League match. Pollock was assisted by Nikki Mc- Quade. Sam McQuade, goalkeeper, managed nine saves to preserve the shutout.

Boys Soccer

Northern Bedford 4, McConnellsburg 1

McConnellsburg trailed by three goals going into the halftime break and lost to Northern Bedford last Friday by the final score of 4-1. Colby Sowers produced the only goal for the Spartans on an assist by Nathan Swope. Goalie Dillan Hollinshead made three saves.

Forbes Road 3, Johnstown Christian 1

Dillen Berger scored all three goals for the Forbes Road Cardinals last Friday, while teammate Donovan Bricker added three assists during a 3-1 victory over Johnstown Christian. Tanner Henry made three saves in goal for the Cardinals during the non-league game.

McConnellsburg 2, Cumberland Valley Christian 0

Jesse Swope rallied for two goals for the victorious Mc- Connellsburg Spartans, who downed Cumberland Valley Christian last Thursday 2-0. Nathan Swope added an assist during the non-league game. Dillan Hollinshead finished with three saves in goal.

FCCCS 13, Carlisle Christian Academy 0

Fulton County Christian Community School kicked off its fall soccer season on September 25 with a 13-0 trouncing of Carlisle Christian Academy. Seth Gordon and Caleb Myers both had four goals, and Nathaniel Gingerich followed with two. Kenny Lininger, Skyler Gordon and Caleb Gingerich each added one goal. Skyler Gordon and Gingerich also had two and one assists, respectively.

FCCCS 5, Covenant Christian Academy 1

Caleb Myers led Fulton County Community Christian School with three goals during a 5-1 victory over Covenant Christian Academy on September 29. Seth Gordon made one goal, and Skyler Gordon had one goal and one assist. Teammates Kenny Lininger and TJ Leedy both had an assist.

Hyndman 3, Forbes Road 0

Hyndman scored two goals in the opening half last Wednesday and one following the halftime break to cruise onto a 3-0 victory over the Forbes Road Cardinals. Nathan Karzcewski totalled three saves in goal for the Cardinals.

Fannett-Metal 4, McConnellsburg 3

With eight minutes remaining on the game clock Monday evening, Fannett-Metal scored a much-needed goal to pull away from the McConnellsburg Spartans 4-3. Nathan Swope rallied for two goals for the Spartans, and Colby Sowers added the final goal during the Sideling Hill League match. Teammates Cody Christy, Jesse Swope and Aaron Hahn all had assists. Dillan Hollinshead finished with 13 saves in goal.

Forbes Road 6, Southern Fulton 0

Thirty seconds into Monday evening’s game Forbes Road scored its first of six unanswered goals to down Southern Fulton. Trent Black recorded three goals to lead the Cardinals, who also got two goals from Dillen Burger. Donovan Bricker followed with one goal and two assists. Tanner Henry, Dakota DeShong, Black and Dustin Sheffield each had an assist.


Everett Shoots Low Score

Everett had the lowest total score of all teams represented at the ICC Sectional Tournament last Tuesday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course. In spite of Everett posting the best score, Ligonier won the tourney with a score of 451. Mount Union and North Star finished in second and third place, respectively. For the Everett Warriors, Jesse Newman led his teammates with 80. Andrew King tallied an 87, and Dylan Gelvin shot a 90.

Everett 196, Northern Bedford 234, Chestnut Ridge 255

Everett’s golf squad easily crushed Northern Bedford and Chestnut Ridge last Thursday with Dylan Gelvin shooting a 37. Andrew King added a score of 39, and teammate Jesse Newman recorded a 42.


Fannett-Metal 3, Southern Fulton 0

Fannett-Metal easily handled Southern Fulton last Thursday, winning three consecutive games 25-15, 25-13 and 25-22. Brittany Strait tallied six kills and one ace. Rachel Norris added 11 digs, and Kristen Miller contributed eight service points. Cierra Covalt wrapped up the match with four assists.

McConnellsburg 3, Everett 1

McConnellsburg dropped the opening game last Thursday but fought back for a 3-1 victory over the Everett Warriors. A’Leese Dickerson led her teammates with 15 kills, six digs, six aces and three blocks. Lisa DeShong finished with 24 assists and 10 digs, while Valerie Green added 19 digs and five aces. Emily Watkins had eight kills and 10 digs.

Mount Union 3, Southern Fulton 0

McConnellsburg put up a valiant effort in their first two sets Monday evening before falling to Mount Union by the ending score of 3-0. Cierra Covalt dished out nine assists, and Rachel Norris contributed eight digs. Alexis Knisely wrapped up the non-league match with six service points, and Brittany Strait added four kills.

Shalom 3, McConnellsburg 2

Shalom Christian pushed Monday evening’s match to five sets before dispatching the Mc- Connellsburg Spartans 3-2. A’Leese Dickerson managed 20 kills, three aces and three blocks, and Emily Watkins had 10 kills, 19 digs and four aces. Meanwhile, Lisa DeShong rallied for 33 assists and 13 digs. Valerie Green totalled 22 digs and four aces, while Ricky Green had four kills and 10 assists.

Chestnut Ridge 3, McConnellsburg 0

McConnellsburg was handed its very first loss of the season last Tuesday, falling to Chestnut Ridge by the final score of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-23. A’Leese Dickerson led her teammates in kills with 17 and added four aces. Lisa DeShong again tallied the most assists with 25 and also recorded nine digs. Emily Watkins finished with four kills and 12 digs. Jessica Nero rallied for 21 digs during the Sideling Hill League match.

Hyndman 3, Southern Fulton 0

The Southern Fulton Indians couldn’t get the momentum rolling against the Hyndman Hornets, who dominated last Tuesday’s Sideling Hill League game 25-16, 25-14 and 25-15. Alexis Knisely led the Lady Indians with a total of four kills, one block and five service points. Rachel Norris added eight digs, and Cierra Covalt dished out seven assists.
