State Police Probe $900K In Pa. Property Sales
UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) – State police in Uniontown are investigating a couple’s claims that five properties they own worth $900,000 were transferred from their names without their knowledge.
Troopers say Joseph and Patricia Campbell came to them this week after they learned the deeds were transferred in the last year. Police say the Campbells didn’t know anything about the transfers until they were having dinner with relatives who had noticed the deed transfers being and mentioned them.
Troopers didn’t immediately say Wednesday how the relatives had learned of the transfers.
The properties are in and around Uniontown, Fayette County, about 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Police say the notary work on the transfers was completed in neighboring Greene County.
