MHS To Hold First-Ever Homecoming

The first-ever homecoming is planned for this Friday, October 9, 2009, at McConnellsburg High School.

With the new lights and a new outside sound system SADD is sponsoring the first-ever Spartan Olympic homecoming. During this homecoming the high school students will have an opportunity to participate in a field day during the school day.

There are 22 high school students running for Olympic champions. They are as follows: sponsored by the ninth grade – Kylie Zittle and Hunter Mellott; tenth grade – Summer Plessinger and Justin DeShong; eleventh grade – Rachel Kendall and Clayton Garlock; twelfth grade – Courtney DeShong and Dylan Simmons; volleyball – A’Leese Dickerson and Ryan Strait; girls soccer - Samanthia McQuade and Colby Sowers; boys soccer – Casey Pollock and Nathan Swope; cheerleading – Morgan Sipes and Aaron Hahn; band – Emily Wenschhof and Paul Houck; chorus – Chaonan Zong (NIKO) and Devin Welsh and boys basketball – Rachel Porterfield and Ryan Defibaugh.

Come and cheer on the mighty Spartans as they take on the Indians from Southern Fulton in soccer. Festivities will start at 5:30 with a junior high soccer game, followed by the introduction of the candidates, band and chorus, announcement of winning champions and team, varsity boys soccer game and to end the evening a dance under the lights!

Everyone in encouraged to attend, especially any alumni of MHS.
