Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a food auction on Friday, October 9, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen will open at 5:00 p.m. frozen foods, snacks and miscellaneous items will be auctioned off.
Kate Berkstresser attended the Lynch reunion held at Needmore Firehall on Sunday. Everyone had a nice time. There were quite a few missing.
Fulton Fall Folk Festival time is fast approaching next week. Everyone looks forward to Fulton County’s time of the year.
Hustontown Class of 1959 held its 50th class reunion at Hustontown Firehall on September 19.
Household hint: Sour cream substitute. You can have sour cream on your baked potato without the extra calories by using cottage cheese – instead run it through the blender or food processor and flavor with chives. Plain yogurt is a good sour cream substitute.
Hustontown Fire Co. happenings for the Fulton Fall Folk Festival are as follows: Friday, October 16, at 5:00 p.m. will be the roast beef dinner served with mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, vegetable, dessert and beverage. On Saturday, October 17, at 11:00 a.m. is the all-you-can-eat potpie meal with chicken, beef or ham and at 1:00 p.m. shooting matches will be held along with a five-round youth shoot after the regular shoot. At 3:00 p.m. there will be a chicken barbecue and at 6:00 p.m. an open stage. The kitchen will also be open at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, at 11:00 a.m. will be the all-you-caneat smorgasbord. Adults are $10 and 5-10 years are 5 with under 5 free.
