Perrry County 4-H Members Take Top Honors In All-American Dairy Judging
More than 250 4-H and FFA youths competed in the All- American Dairy Show Dairy Judging Forum held Tuesday, September 22, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg.
Conrad Weiser FFA took home the blue ribbon in the FFA Judging Forum. Team members were Tyler Sattazahn, Kaitlin Gelsinger, Ashley Mohn and Caitlyn Pool. Second place went to Red Lion Area FFA with team members Thomas Johnson, Sarah Innerst, Gabby Murphy and Cody Raver. Troy FFA was third place with members Paige Cook, Cooke Whitney, Amanda Harris and Kali Terrel.
Other top 10 FFA teams were: Fourth:- Captain Jack FFA Fifth: Big Spring FFA
Sixth: Cowanesque FFA
Seventh: Southern Huntingdon County FFA
Eighth:- Forbes Road FFA Ninth: Northern Bedford FFA
Tenth: Cedar Crest FFA
Placing first in the FFA division and leading her team to victory was Kaitlin Gelsinger of Conrad Weiser FFA.
Youths individually placed seven classes of dairy cows and completed a written examination on basic dairy knowledge.
Amber Gabel, a member of Perry County 4-H, took top honors at the contest, winning the 4- H division. Gabel was also on the first-place 4-H Team along with team members Clay Rice, Katie Osborne and Christine Hollister.

Third: Chad Horst, Lebanon County 4-H
Fourth: Clay Rice, Perry County 4-H
Fifth: Katie Osborne, Perry County 4-H
Sixth: Dyllan Himmelberger, Lebanon County 4-H
7th- Royell Bashore, Lebanon County 4-H
8th- Logann Karchner, Columbia County 4-H
9th- Samantha Klingler, Columbia County 4-H
10th- Clayton Himmelberger, Lebanon County 4-H
Second place in the 4-H division was the team from Lebanon County 4-H with team members Royell Bashore, Dyllan Himmelberger, Chad Horst and Clayton Himmelberger. Columbia County 4-H came in third with team members Logan Karchner, Levi Karchner and Samantha Klingler.
