Dale Gordon Memorial Run/Walk The Dale Gordon Memorial 5K Run/Walk will be October 17. Proceeds benefit Fulton County Christian School. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. Entry fees are $20 if paid by October 14 and $25 if paid after October 14. Entry fees are nonrefundable. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. in the square of Needmore. A free T-shirt will be given to all runners/walkers at check-in. The race will be held rain or shine. The award ceremony will be held at the square following the race. Medals will be awarded to first- and second-place winners in each category. More information or registration may be obtained by calling Bonnie Gordon at 717-573-2318. All donations are tax-deductible. Receipts will be given for all donations for tax purposes.

Car Show A car show will be held Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., rain or shine, at Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore. Open to all antiques, hot rods, customs, classics, trucks and motorcycles. There will also be a concession stand, bake sale, music, children’s games, door prizes and more. FCCCS sports teams will be offering some delicious funnel cakes. Proceeds benefit the Fulton County Community Christian School. MES Musical The McConnellsburg Elementary School will present “Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs” to audiences on Friday and Saturday, November 13 and 14, at 7:30 p.m., and a Sunday matinee November 15, at 2:00 p.m. All performances will be held in the Mc- Connellsburg High School Auditorium. Anyone wishing to support the cast of 49 fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders can send donations to MES at 151 East Cherry Street, McConnellsburg, PA 17233 attention Susanne Moore. Pike-To-Bike Ride The Fulton County Parks and Recreation will be holding its fall Pike-To-Bike ride on the abandoned turnpike October 4 at 2:00 p.m. (no raindate). Riders should bring a flashlight and meet at the Pump Station Road, Hustontown, entrance to be led on a leisurely eight-mile ride through the Sideling Hill Tunnel. Ride will include historical information on the area and turnpike as well as wildlife information. Preregistration is not required but appreciated! This event is free, but donations are welcome. Gettysburg Bike Trip There will be bike trip to tour the Gettysburg Battlefield on Saturday, October 3, 2009. Jack Keen will be the guide. This is a really great educational bike trip. If you like history or just like to ride your bike, this is a trip you do not want to miss. New York City Trip Modern Woodmen of America Camp 7948 is sponsoring a bus trip to New York City on Saturday, December 5. The bus departs from the McConnellsburg Courthouse at 6:00 a.m. A stop will be made for a breakfast buffet at approximately 8:30 a.m. and will arrive in New York City near Macy’s at approximately 11:30 a.m. The bus will depart New York City near the Times Square area at 6:30 p.m. A stop will be made halfway home for supper (on your own). Estimated arrival back in McConnellsburg is 12:15 a.m. Cost for transportation and breakfast buffet is $50 for adults and $45 for children under 12. Shooting Matches Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor shooting matches beginning Saturday, October 3, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Also there will be a five-round youth shoot after the regular shoot. For youth shoot, age limit is 16 years old and under. Youths must be accompanied by parent or guardian. Assorted meat prizes will be given.

Rifle Shoot The Fulton County Rifle and Pistol Club wishes to invite the public to join them for practice trap shoots every Friday until November 20 and trap shoots at noon the third Sunday of every month from now until the end of the year.
