Police Kill Pa. Elderly Woman Who Was At Ex's Home

NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. (AP) - An elderly western Pennsylvania woman is dead after police shot and killed her outside of her ex-boyfriend's house where she was dressed in black and holding a pistol.

North Versailles police tell the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that 71- year-old Elsa Seman was crouched behind the home of her former boyfriend when a neighbor called about a prowler. Police arrived and ordered the woman to show her hands. Police say Seman pointed the pistol at an officer before being shot.

Police believe Seman planned to confront her former boyfriend and his new girlfriend when they arrived at the home.

Allegheny County police are investigating the shooting. The officer who fired the shot has been put on paid administration leave pending the investigation.
