Gene A. Myers
Gene Allen Myers, 66, Hancock, Md., died Thurdsay, September 10, 2009, at his home.
Born February 16, 1943, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Paul H. and Marie E. Divelbliss Myers.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a lifelong resident of Hancock and a former employee of the State Highway Administration of Maryland, retiring in 2005 after 43 years of employment. He was a 1961 graduate of Hancock High School.
He was a charter member of Hancock Rescue Squad, a member of Hancock Fire Co. since 1967, a member of Washington County Fire Police, a member of Tonoloway Rod and Gun Club and managed a Hancock Little League Team for 19 years. He enjoyed both hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Lois A. Myers; a son, Jason A. Myers, Hancock; a sister, Betty J. Suder, Clear Spring, Md.; three brothers: Ronald E. Myers, Funkstown, Md.; Joseph I. Myers, Baltimore, Md.; and Robert I. Myers, Hancock.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul D. Myers.
Services were held Monday, September 14, at 1:00 p.m., at Parkhead United Methodist Church, Clear Spring, Md. Evangelist Timothy Faith officiated. Burial was made in Parkhead Cemetery, Pecktonville, Md.
Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, was in charge of arrangements.
