Madeline E. Humbert, 82, Mc- Connellsburg, died Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Fulton County Medical Center.

She was born in Needmore September 6, 1927, the daughter of the late R.C. and Jesse (Truax) Mellott. She was the wife of Tom O. Humbert, whom she married May 8, 1948.

She was a member of Mc- Connellsburg United Methodist Church, McConnellsburg Chapter of the Eastern Star, Mc- Connellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and was a retired cafeteria worker from Central Fulton School District.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Dale O. (husband of Cheryl) Humbert, Big Cove Tannery; daughter Missy H. (wife of Bill) Cover, Chambersburg; sisters: Pauline Stahl, Mercersburg; Evelyn Theis, Flint, Texas; brothers: Fred Mellott, Tulsa, Okla.; Richard Mellott, Needmore; Paul Mellott, St. Thomas; Norman Mellott, Big Cove Tannery; Charles Mellott, Dunn, N.C.; Earl Mellott, Mercersburg; grandchildren: Chris Humbert, Leesburg, Va.; Darcy (wife of Troy) Thompson, Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Nicholas Cover, Chambersburg; and greatgrandson, Zachary Humbert, Leesburg, Va.

She was preceded in death by brothers: King, Grover, Clair and Carl Mellott.

Funeral services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 14. Pastor John Godissart officiated. Burial was made in Union Cemetery.
