Suspect In Golfers' Robbery Found Dead In Pa. Cell
UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a man charged with robbing four golfers on a putting green was found hanging in his cell.
Fayette County Prison Warden Larry Medlock says 25-yearold Cade Stevens, of Dawson, was found hanging from the cell bars shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday. Medlock says he had used bed sheets to hang himself. State police in Uniontown are investigating.
Stevens was accused of being the masked man armed with a shotgun who emerged from the woods and approached the foursome on the 15th hole of the Linden Hall course in Tyrone late Thursday afternoon. Police said he ordered them to get on the ground and empty their pockets, and later struck one man on both sides of the face with the gun.
