Vo-Tech Student Takes The Gold
Justin Gordon, son of Brent and Rita Gordon of Mc- Connellsburg, and a recent Fulton County Area Vocational Technical School completer of the drafting and design program, earned first place in a SkillsUSA national scholarship competition. His entry design was of a construction/scientific calculator. The entry consisted of a 10- page detailed design of a calculator using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. Calculated Industries sponsored the $1,000 scholarship and praised Gordon on the amount of detail he expressed in his design. They also stated that his submission was thorough, and the benefits of each feature were well expressed.

Gordon has been a SkillsUSA member, through the FCAVTS, for the past two years. He was one of the first students to earn his certified architectural drafter certification by the American Design and Drafter Association through the FCAVTS in December 2008.
