Lewis Dean Cromwell, 79, Mc- Connellsburg, died at 11:21 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2009, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born February 7, 1930 in Taylor Township, Fulton County, he was the son of the late Gladstone and Olive (Stains) Cromwell. He was married to Sara Ellen Webb Franco on September 20, 1954, at Cumberland, Md. Mrs. Cromwell survives at their home.

He is survived by a stepson, Joseph Franco, of Lakeshore, Fla.; four grandchildren: Larry Joseph Franco and Michelle Lee Walker, McConnellsburg, and Jessica Marie Franco and Anthony Joseph Franco, of Medina, Ohio; one great-grandson, Zachary Lewis Johnson; one brother, Albert G. Cromwell, Florida, and two sisters: Mary Stevens, Fayetteville, and Delores Cromwell, Medina, Ohio.

One sister, Lena Park is deceased.

A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, he served as a Torpedo man 1st Class on the USS Massey. He was also a boxer in the Navy.

He was a member of American Legion Post 561, McConnellsburg, and a member of John W. Barkley Lodge #621 Free and Accepted Masons, Lakewood, Ohio.

He was of the Protestant Faith.

He was retired from the Ford Motor Co., Cleveland, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2009, at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Rev. Kenneth Cornelius wll officiate. Interment will be at the Cromwell Church Cemetery, Hustontown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

The Fulton Honor Guard will provide military honors at the cemetery on Thursday.
