Car Wash A car wash and Cub Scout popcorn sale will be held at Great Cove Autos on Saturday, September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. McConnellsburg Pack 43 Cub Scouts will be washing cars for a donation and selling porcorn.

Bake/Yard/Craft Sale Warfordsburg Senior Center will be having a bake/yard/craft sale on October 15 and 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., during the Fulton Fall Folk Festival. Outside space will be available for $5. More information may be obtained by calling 294-6020.

Open Stage Hustontown Fire Co. will hold an open stage Saturday, September 26, at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen begins at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and share talent. Smoke-free and air-conditioned facility.

Pike-To-Bike Ride The Fulton County Parks and Recreation will be holding its fall Pike-To-Bike ride on the abandoned turnpike October 4 at 2:00 p.m. (no raindate). Riders should bring a flashlight and meet at the Pump Station Road, Hustontown, entrance to be led on a leisurely eight-mile ride through the Sideling Hill Tunnel. Ride will include historical information on the area and turnpike as well as wildlife information. Preregistration is not required but appreciated! This event is free, but donations are welcome. X Card Shoots Fulton County Rifle and Pistol Club X-card shoots begin this September 18 until November 20 and start at 7:00 p.m. Ten chances to shoot for $10 at an X card. First place is a turkey or ham; second place bacon. The last round is $5 to win the $50 meat round.

Washington Bus Trip A bus trip to Washington is planned for September 23. Sights will be Arlington, Vietnam, World War II memorials and a tour of the National Cathedral. More information may be obtained by calling Nancy Younker at 717-294-3507.

Shooting Matches Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor shooting matches beginning October 3 at 1:00 p.m. More details will be coming at a later date.

Box Tops Carnival Fulton County Community Christian School will hold a Box Tops Carnival for Education Saturday, September 26, from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. There will be a food stand with hot dogs, steamers, nacho's, pizza, chips, soda, and more. Games will include Balloon Darts, Gold Fish, Ring Toss, Ducks, as well as a cake walk, car bash, and more. The community is invited to bring their box tops for a fun afternoon of food and games. If you don't have box tops, don't worry. Come anyway. You can purchase box tops to play the games. For additional information, contact Georgia Hull at 301-331-3056.

Preschool Story Hour Preschool Story Hour at the Fulton County Library will begin Tuesday September 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hustontown Branch Library; Wednesday September 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fulton County Library in McConnellsburg; and Thursday, September 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Room of the Needmore Branch of Tower Bank. All children ages birth to school age and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend.

Weavers 101 A hands-on weaving instruction by Judy Appleby will be held September 26 and October 3 at 9:00 a.m. at the Frick Road, Waterfall, studio. Offered will be hands-on instruction on the basics of weaving through the creation of large or small totes that include leather handles and a diamond overlay pattern. Class will last approximately 4 to 5 hours. Participants need to bring an old towel, pencil, flexible tape measure, sharp scissors, spring clothespins, spray bottle and a dishpan or bucket, not too small or too large. Students should also bring a brown bag lunch or something to share for lunch. Cost is $44 for a small tote or $49 for a large. Nature/Plant ID Walk The Woodland Owners of the Southern Alleghenies and forester Dave Scamardella in conjunction with the Fulton County Parks and Recreation Commission will be hosting a nature walk on Sunday, September 20, at 3 p.m. at the Kerper Tract in Big Cove Tannery. Raindate is September 27. The walk will span two miles and is categorized as "moderately" difficult. This event will include identification of various plants and trees and is a perfect opportunity for students needing to complete a school leaf collection. Shooting Matches Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor shooting matches beginning Saturday, October 3, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Also there will be a five-round youth shoot after the regular shoot. For youth shoot, age limit is 16 years old and under. Youths must be accompanied by parent or guardian. Assorted meat prizes will be given.

Rifle Shoot The Fulton County Rifle and Pistol Club wishes to invite the public to join them for practice trap shoots every Friday until November 20 and trap shoots at noon the third Sunday of every month from now until the end of the year.

Youth Field Day Fulton County Youth Field Day will be held Saturday, September 19, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A light lunch will be provided at no cost. Preregistration is required. Space is limited to 50 youths. Applications may be picked up at Keller's Store in Hustontown, Harr's Grocery, Keystone Country Store, Fulton County Extension Office or by e-mail at youthfieldday@hotmail.com.

Car Show McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Assoc. will be having a car show for anyone interested on Saturday, September 19, at the alumni community center. For more information, please call Nicole Earley at 717-360-4590.

Bus Trip PAR-PAC will be having a bus trip to Atlantic City on September 19. Cost is $60. Money must accompany reservations. You will receive cash back plus meal.
