Ronald L. Pepple
Ronald L. Pepple, 73, East Freedom, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Clearville, the son of the late George C. Pepple and Faye (Troutman) Weicht.
He married Nancy G. Sponsler on January 12, 1958, in Mount Union United Church of Christ, Everett.
He is survived by his wife; four children: Ronald Brian Pepple, Boalsburg; Richard Pepple and wife Cindy, Bowie, Md.; Tracey Smith, Hollidaysburg and Joanne Pepple, East Freedom; four grandchildren: Ronald Pepple Jr., Allen Pepple, Danny Pepple and Samantha Smith; and four great-grandchildren: Allyson Pepple, Isaiah Pepple, Ava Pepple and Chloe Pepple; stepmother Patricia Pepple Price, Everett; a brother, Donnie Pepple, McConnellsburg; two halfsisters and two half-brothers: Carol Holmes, Mary Weicht and Rocky Weicht, all of Florida; and Greg Pepple, Lancaster.
He was a 1955 graduate of Everett High School.
He was employed as a longdistance truck driver from 1961- 1976, from 1976-1999 he was a truck driver for the NAPA Distribution Center, Duncansville, and he then worked at Krentzman's and Burchfield's Towing.
He was a United States Army veteran from 1954-1957, serving in Germany. He enjoyed fishing, Penn State and Steeler football and NASCAR.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5, in Mount Union Christian Church of Mench, Everett. Rev. Dana E. Umball officiated.
