Pa. Man Who Found Bones May Live Atop Cemetery
YORK, Pa. (AP) - A central Pennsylvania man who found human bones buried in his yard may be living atop a former cemetery.
Authorities in York say they have checked historical records and learned there are unmarked graves in the area, which used to be farmland.
York County Coroner Barry Bloss said Friday that the bones found in the yard will be reinterred, so as not to desecrate a grave. He says they likely belonged to a 13- to 15-year-old girl who was buried 70 to 100 years ago.
Homeowner Mike Ulrich discovered the bones while digging a trench in his yard in July. He says he doesn't mind having the bones reburied on the spot.
Bloss says there could be more bodies buried in the area. The site will be marked.
