The weather was great for the Labor Day weekend and, according to the traffic through town, a lot of folks were out enjoying it. Although Monday wasn't

as nice.

We hear Mabel Brant was transferred to Chambersburg Hospital from Altoona. We send get well wishes her way and hope she can be home soon.

Glad to hear Grace Grissinger was able o return back home after spending a couple days in Chambersburg Hospital. Hope she continues to improve.

Glad to see the good attendance at Knobsville United Methodist Church on Sunday morning.

Happy birthday wishes to Frank Sipes, September 1; Jane Dunkle, September 4; Troy Parsons, September 5; Darlene Leedy, September 7; and Ann Divens, September 12.

Some folks were celebrating anniversaries, so congratulations to Pastor Bill and Joann Kuhn on September 7; Bryan and Jessica Creager on September 9; and Fred and LaRhue Cunningham on September 14.

Hope the weather will be nice for the Frank Martz sale on Saturday, September 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an auction on Friday evening, September 11, at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. Go out for supper and support the fire company.

AARP safe driving course will be offered at Hustontown Senior Center on September 21 and 22. Classes are from 8:00 a.m. to noon both days. AARP members are $12 and nonmembers are $14. To make reservations, call 987- 3770 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Household hint: When buying clothes always read care and cleaning label as this could make a very costly item. If it needs dry cleaning or special care, you may change your mind on item as there are a lot of washable items on sale now.
