Myrtle F. Divelbliss

Hancock, 89

Myrtle Fern Divelbliss, 89, Hancock, Md., formerly of Hancock and a resident of Coffman Nursing Home, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at the home.

Born November 23, 1919, in Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late William and Nellie Eshelman Keefer and the widow of Thurman W. Divelbliss Sr., who died in 1989.

She was a homemaker.

She was a former member of Hancock Senior Citizens.

She attended Rehobeth United Methodist Church and Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, Hancock.

She is survived by two daughters: Beulah F. Sneckenberger, Hagerstown; Aleta J. Semler, Boonsboro, Md.; two sons: Thurman W. Divelbliss Jr., Hagerstown; and Gary S. Divelbliss, Hancock; a sister, Ruth Maconaughey, Ranson, W.Va.; a brother, John Keefer, Shippensburg; eight grandchildren: Judy Snyder, Rich Sneckenberger, Tammy Young, Kelly Cline, Preston Semler Jr., Trent Semler, Steven and Kevin Divelbliss, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters: Elsie Rhodes, Beulah Cassner, Mary Miley and Edna Tritle; three brothers: Cecil, William and Lester Keefer.

Services were held Saturday, August 29, at 1:00 p.m., at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Rev. Frank Kocek officiated. Burial was made in Rehobeth United Methodist Cemetery, near Hancock.
