UMC Hosting Support Group For Parents Of Teenagers, New Teen Study Group
McConnellsburg UMC is starting a study/support group for parents of teenagers on Wednesday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church at 121 N. Second Street across from the courthouse.
Teenagers are a unique breed. Hormones are raging, bodies are changing and priorities are rearranging. Parents don't know whether to laugh, cry or throw their arms up in desperation. There are biblical principles and ideas to help parents guide teens or pre-teens in faith. Giving parents an opportunity to openly share and support one another is of great value.
While parents are meeting in the overflow area of the sanctuary, youths will be meeting in the basement of the education building for a study entitled "Paul in Rome." It is about the pressures of society and how to live as a faithful Christian in today's culture. Studies will be held every other Wednesday. The dates are Sept. 9, Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Oct. 21, Nov. 4, and Nov. 18.
If you have specific questions about the group, you can contact the church at 485-4815. A tailgating party will take place right before the study from 5:30- 6:30 p.m. at the parking area near the church. Feel free to bring some food to share with others and connect with some other parents.
