Betty Ramsey, Kim Stevens and Melanie Myers recently spent the weekend in Pittsburgh attending Hilary Forslund's bridal shower and taking in a Pirates win.

Betty Ramsey and Joe, Melanie and Dison Myers attended the Little League World Series games this past soggy Saturday in Williamsport.

A birthday cookout was held over the weekend to celebrate birthdays for Mike Souders and Joe Myers. Attending were Teresa, Ben, and Lydia Souders and friend Joe, Betty Ramsey, and Joe, Judy, Melanie and Dison Myers.

Visiting this week with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family were Brent Carlson, Tom and Mamie Streightiff and Travis Madden.

Tim Streightiff was visiting with Tom and Mamie Streightiff this weekend and attended a wedding in State College.

Buzz and Bea Covert have been attending football games for Kean and Shaine Goshorn. In their spare time, they have been busy digging a plentiful crop of Yukon Gold, red and white potatoes. Nothing beats a bowl of homegrown mashed potatoes or new potatoes made into French fries.

Chad Ramsey and Brian, Emily and Micah Ramsey had lunch with Roger and Pat Ramsey on Sunday.

Jason and Kaydince Whitsel and Destinie Ramsey visited Roger and Pat Ramsey on Sunday afternoon. Baby Kaydince enjoyed a nice afternoon nap while visiting.

Toryn, Cameron and Brayden Locke spent last weekend with Gordon and Donna Locke. While at the grandparents; there was a lot of swimming and bike riding before school began.

On Saturday, George, Greg, Gordon, Donna, Toryn, Cameron and Brayden Locke traveled to Rockhill to ride the East Broad Top Railroad. Homemade ice cream was enjoyed by all on Saturday evening.

On Sunday, Gordon and Donna Locke traveled to Shippensburg to watch the first football game of the new season. The games started at 11:30 a.m. and ran until 5 p.m. The players were tired and hungry after the long day.

Pat Ramsey and Karen Grissinger enjoyed a ladies night out in Hagerstown on Tuesday evening with dinner at the Olive Garden restaurant.

Steve, Karen and Tammy Grissinger visited with Delores, Mike, Patti, Kevin and Chris Pintozzi, Marty and Denise Sinkiewicz, and Steve, Sue, Ben and Robyn Haines last weekend.

Shade Gap Area Fire Co. Auxiliary will be hosting "the ultimate bingo" on September 13 at the auxiliary building. All proceeds benefit the Shade Gap Auxiliary freezer/cooler drive.

Immanuel Bible Church will be hosting the blood drive in Three Springs on September 10. Donors will be greatly appreciated.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will be sponsoring a gun drawing on September 12, beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and a limit of 200 will be sold. To purchase a ticket and support the fire company, please call 717-987-3016, 987-3108 or 987- 3783.

Clear Ridge ladies and gents will be hosting a festival on Sept 17 beginning at 4 p.m. A pie and soup sale is scheduled for October 29.
