Pa. Man Charged With Intimidating Beating Victim
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) - Police say a man hospitalized after being beaten with a baseball bat was warned by a suspect's father to keep quiet about it.
Police sat 55-year-old Luigi Scotto-DiCarlo, of Allentown, phoned Marcelo Columba from the lobby at St. Luke's Hospital where the victim was recovering from fractures to his jaw and eye socket.
According to authorities, Scotto-DiCarlo told the victim that it would be a mistake to follow through with the prosecution of the man's son, 20-year-old Salvatore Scotto-DiCarlo.
Police say Luigi Scotto-Di- Carlo insinuated that he was tied to a New York organized crime syndicate.
