Wible Family To Hold Reunion

The descendants of Elliott R. Wible, husband of Annie E. (Madden) Wible, and brother Hiriam Wible will hold their 100th family reunion on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30. The first Wible family reunion was held in 1910. The reunion grounds, located at 22280 Wible Reunion Road, Three Springs, were dedicated on Augsut 30, 1930. It was with great foresight for keeping the family united and reunited that Elliott R. Wible made provision in his will that the land be kept for the purpose of a reunion ground for generations to come. Elliott R. Wible was born on February 15, 1858, and died June 5, 1930.

The schedule of events for the coming weekend include: Saturday, August 29 - welcome and lunch at 12:30 p.m., Wible family photographs at 1:30 p.m. and business meeting at 2:00 p.m. Children's games will be at 2:30 p.m., with a raffle at 3:15 p.m. and cake walk at 3:45 p.m. Prize bingo will be held at 4:00 p.m. and Mt. Union School District square dancers will hold an exhibition at 5:00 p.m. A pig roast will begin at 6:00 p.m. with entertainment by Dan and Galla at 6:30 p.m .and a campfire at 9:00 p.m., featuring the Aughwick Boys.

Sunday, August 30, will be the welcome and chicken barbecue at 12:30 p.m.; gospel music by the Aughwick Boys at 1:30 p.m.; rededication of the reunion grounds and memorial services conducted by Rev. Dr. Ken Grundon, Pastor Roz Mason and Pastor Joseph Gentilman at 2:00 p.m. Gospel music by the Aughwick Boys will close the services at 3:00 p.m.
