State police, McConnellsburg, are continuing to investigate an alleged harassment that occurred at Cloverleaf Court in Todd Township on Wednesday, August 5. At 12:15 a.m., a 38-yearold female from McConnellsburg argued with a 36-year-old Mc- Connellsburg man, who allegedly kicked her in the leg. State police did not release the name of the male suspect.
Area Man Found DUI
Forty-nine-year-old Marvin James Fittery of McConnellsburg has been cited for driving under the influence following a traffic stop at the intersection of Lincoln Way East and Route 522 on Wednesday, August 12. State police reported they initially pulled over Fittery, who was operating a 1987 Chevrolet Station wagon, for a traffic violation at 11:45 p.m.
A 1999 Pontiac Grand Am overturned at 5:25 a.m. after its driver fell asleep at the wheel along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70. Bradley J. Conley of Clearville was not injured during the Tuesday, August 4, crash in Bethel Township. Conley, 33, was wearing a seat belt. He will be charged with careless driving.
Driver Cited In I-70 Crash
A North Royalton, Ohio, woman faces charges of driving on roadways laned for traffic in connection with a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 70. Fortynine year-old Susan T. Potopsky lost control of her vehicle just east of the Town Hill exit. Her 2001 Chrysler Sebring struck a hillside and became disabled as a result of the 9:18 p.m. accident on Friday, August 7. Potopsky was wearing a seat belt and escaped harm.
Credit Card Accessed
A credit card belonging to Jim Allen Fitz, 35, of Crystal Spring, was used without his authorization, according to state police. Fitz told state police investigators his card was charged on June 23 and June 30.
Car Rolls Over
The operator of a 1995 Ford Escort will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic after the northbound vehicle rolled over. State police, Mc- Connellsburg, did not release the name or any information regarding the driver involved in the Wednesday, August 12, accident at 5:20 p.m. in Licking Creek Township.
Pool Lining Damaged
The lining of an above-ground pool located at 604 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg Borough, was punctured between 7 p.m. on August 9 and 7 a.m. on August 10. The victim of the criminal mischief was a 31-year-old McConnellsburg woman. Anyone having additional information pertaining to this case should contact Fulton County Crime Solvers at 717-485-5771.
A purse belonging to a 49- year-old McConnellsburg women was removed from her R&D Lane home in Todd Township sometime between 2 p.m Aug. 7 and 2 p.m. Aug. 8. The missing purse, McConnellsburg state police reported, was hanging from a kitchen chair in the victim's home. Pickup Rear-ended In Ayr. Twp.
McConnellsburg state police have charged Goldie Mellott, 82, of Needmore with following too closely after she drove her 1998 Ford Escort into the rear of a 1994 Ford F150 that was heading north on Great Cove Road near the intersection of state Route 928 in Ayr Township. The pickup's driver, Fred K. Buterbaugh, 60, of McConnellsburg was attempting to turn left when the accident occurred at 8 a.m. on Aug. 15. Neither driver was injured.
Harassment Charges Filed
Charges of harassment have been filed against a 51-year-old McConnellsburg man after he allegedly approached a 20-yearold McConnellsburg female in an aggressive manner with a raised fist, according to Mc- Connellsburg state police. The incident took place at a Cito Road address on Aug. 14 at 7:25 p.m. State police allege Richard D. Chafardon was intoxicated at the time of his arrest.
Eric A. Hahn, 53, of Sharpsburg, Md., lost control of his 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster along Tollgate Ridge Road on Aug. 9 at 12:30 p.m. when his passenger lost consciousness and fell off the southbound vehicle. Nancy R. Ressler, 61, of Hagerstown, Md., McConnellsburg state police reported, rolled off the Thompson Twp. road into the grass, suffering moderate injuries. Hahn toppled the bike, and it slid off the road into the grass. Ressler was transported to Fulton County Medical Center by the Needmore Ambulance Co. Both Hahn, who suffered minor injuries, and Ressler were wearing helmets.
Fence Pole Struck In Hit-And-Run
State police, McConnellsburg, are looking for the driver of an unknown vehicle that struck a fence pole in Taylor Twp. and then fled the scene. The Aug. 8 hit-and-run involved a fence pole along the left berm of Doran Road, state police reported, just north of township highway 437. Police said the unknown vehicle was traveling south on Doran Road and skidded as it entered a curve. Information about this hit-and-run should be reported to the state police at 717-485- 3131.
Two-Vehicles Crash On I-70
Two people were reported injured after a two-vehicle accident at 6:15 a.m. Aug. 14 on Interstate 70 in Bethel Twp.
State police, McConnellsburg, said Tohwa Moses, 40, of East Vandergrift, Pa., lost control of her 2000 Dodge Stratus while negotiating a right-hand curve in the road's eastbound lanes. The car traveled off the road into the grass median. The driver attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the interstate but lost control again, causing the car to spin and slide back across the median into the westbound lanes, where it struck a 2005 Hondo Civic.
Moses was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries. Her 16-year-old passenger was not belted and suffered moderate injuries. The driver of the Honda and her passenger were not injured. The injured were taken to Washington County Hospital.
EMS personnel from the Needmore and Hancock fire companies assisted state police at the scene.
Moses has been charged with roadways laned for traffic.
Man Charged With Aggravated Assualt
Ronald Lee Kahn II, 43, of Waynesboro, Pa., was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats as a result of a 7:45 p.m incident on Aug. 15 at an East Maple Street extension address in Todd Twp.
Police said Kahn allegedly fired a handgun then walked across the street and pointed the weapon at the victims, a 69- year-old female and a 69-yearold male, threatening to kill them.
Kahn was taken into custody at the Franklin/Fulton County line on Route 16 after a Ford pickup that he was a passenger in was stopped by state police.
The accused was admitted to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries inflicted by the male victim during a physical altercation.
Kahn was arraigned by District Magistrate Judge Wendy Mellott, who set bail at $100,000. He was remanded to Fulton County Medical Center to continue medical care under the observation of state police.
Two minors were found to have been consuming alcohol after McConnellsburg state police checked the Twist & Shake parking lot on Aug. 10 at 11:05 p.m. The accused are an 18-yearold Needmore female and an 18- year-old McConnellsburg.
