Dale W. Robinson
Dale Wayne Robinson, 55, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Friday, August 14, 2009, at his home.
Born August 13, 1954, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Harry Wayne and Lucy Belle Riggleman Robinson.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a 1972 graduate of Hancock High School.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired in 1992 as a sergeant with the U.S. Army National Guard in Hagerstown, where he was a cook and diesel mechanic. He was a retired truck driver with the Maryland State Highway Administration.
He was a member and past commander of Webster B. Harrison American Legion Post 26 in Hancock. He was a lifetime member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1483 in Berkeley Springs where he had served as governor. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Legion, had served as president of Loyal Order of Moose West Virginia District 3 and had attained the degree of Pilgrim. He enjoyed auto body work and loved to play tip jars.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Roach Robinson, at home; two sisters: Shirley Jean Harbaugh, Franklin, Pa., and Rebecca Ann Morris, Warfordsburg; two brothers: Ernest Francis Robinson, Berkeley Springs; and Thomas Lee Robinson, Warfordsburg; one uncle, Carroll Robinson, Keyser, W.Va., and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Rev. Daniel L. Montague III officiated. Burial, with graveside military honors provided by Tri-State Honor Guard, was in Greenway Cemetery.
