Grover Keefer Mellott
Grover was born in Webster 23, 1929. He was a son of the late Rankin J. and Catharine Keefer Mellott. He was the husband of Dorothy G. (Grissinger) Mellott, whom he married on August 8, 1953.
He was a member of the Mc- Connellsburg United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 561, Fulton County Chapter of Grease, Steam and Rust Association and Gideons International.
Grover was a retired maintenance superintendent from Central Fulton School District, a retired farmer, and he also was a sergeant in the Signal Core of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Craig A. (husband of Gwen) Mellott of Houston, Texas; and Joseph S. (husband of Joan) Mellott of Mc- Connellsburg; two daughters: Jana L. (wife of Clem) Malot of Harrisonville, and Susan L. (wife of John B.) Myers of Lancaster, Pa.; sisters: Nellie Pearson of Sliver Spring, Md.; Cleo Donahue of Cobbs Creek, Va.; Sharon Glazier of McConnellsburg; brothers Alan Mellott of Kernersville, N.C.; Dale Mellott of Shiremanstown; 12 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers J. Preseton, Alvey R. and Donald Mellott, sister Martha Painter and infant sister Laura.
Religious services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2009, with Rev. Donald Bard officiating.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
