Sandra Lucas Jackson
Sandra Lucas Jackson, 61, of High Germany Street, Hancock, Md., died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at her home.
Born November 30, 1947, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of Arthur L. Lucas of Hancock, Md., and the late Idella V. Trail Lucas.
She was a 1965 graduate of Hancock High School; a 1966 graduate of Towson University Teachers College and received her master's degree from Shippensburg University.
She was employed by the Washington County Board of Education as a teacher; and taught in the Washington County school system for 40 years.
She was a member of the National Education Association; WCFA of Washington County; MTSA Maryland State Police, and Hancock United Methodist Church.
Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, William C. Jackson; two sons: Marty L. Adams of Greencastle and Randy E. Adams of Williamsport, Md.; stepdaughter Valerie A. Roach of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and one brother, Norty Lucas (husband of Bonnie) of Big Pool, Md. She was preceded in death by twin daughters, Sheila and LeAyn Adams and one sister, Tammy DiNenna.
Memorial services were held Monday, August 17, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Hancock United Methodist Church, with Rev. Duane Jensen officiating. Burial was made in Rehobeth United Methodist Cemetery, Mercersburg.
