Free Computer Classes Free computer classes will be offered Thursday, August 27, at Fulton County Library: MS Word from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; MS Excel from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and Building Webpages from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please call or stop in the library to sign up for any of these classes.

Creative Card Class A Creative Card class will be held Saturday, September 19, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Stampin' Up consultant Dana Smith will host another quarterly worship focusing on fall and Halloween themes at the Alumni and Friends Community Building, Mc- Connellsburg. Up to 12 adults will learn how to create cards, gift tags, bags and home decor through a variety of rubber-stamping techniques. Navigating The Internet Southern Fulton technology director Doug Leisher will lead up to 24 adult students through a hands-on class September 15 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. that will include an introduction on what the Internet is, browsers and current topics. While the class is open to any adult age 18 and over, it is perfect for older adults and senior citizens who would like to lean how to stay in contact with friends and family via the computer. Weavers 101 A hands-on weaving instruction by Judy Appleby will be held September 26 and October 3 at 9:00 a.m. at the Frick Road, Waterfall, studio. Offered will be hands-on instruction on the basics of weaving through the creation of large or small totes that include leather handles and a diamond overlay pattern. Class will last approximately 4 to 5 hours. Participants need to bring an old towel, pencil, flexible tape measure, sharp scissors, spring clothespins, spray bottle and a dishpan or bucket, not too small or too large. Students should also bring a brown bag lunch or something to share for lunch. Cost is $44 for a small tote or $49 for a large. In order to register, mail fee and personal information along with the date intended to participate to Judy Appleby, 501 Frick Road, Waterfall, PA 16689. School Supply Donations Any residents wishing to donate school supplies for children enrolled in the Southern Fulton School District can do so by bringing the materials directly to Southern Fulton Elementary. In light of a recent letter to the editor, it should be noted school officials will not accept cash donations in lieu of supplies. All donations for area children must be in the form of notebooks, pencils, and other school supplies.

Hunter Safety Course The Hunter/Trapper Safety Course will be held September 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and September 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club. Preregistration is required at www.pgc.state.pa.us, click on Hunter Education. Class is limited to 65 students. A bag lunch is needed for Saturday. More information may be obtained by calling 717-573-2921 on Monday evenings only from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. No other calls will be accepted.

Nature/Plant ID Walk The Woodland Owners of the Southern Alleghenies and forester Dave Scamardella in conjunction with the Fulton County Parks and Recreation Commission will be hosting a nature walk on Sunday, September 20, at 3 p.m. at the Kerper Tract in Big Cove Tannery. Raindate is September 27. The walk will span two miles and is categorized as "moderately" difficult. This event will include identification of various plants and trees and is a perfect opportunity for students needing to complete a school leaf collection. Free Clothing Free clothing will be available on Tuesday, August 25, at St. Stephen Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. More information may be obtained by calling Sister Margie at 385-5917.

Benefit Auction A benefit auction for Tommy Nesbitt will be on Sunday, August 30, starting at 2:00 p.m. in the alumni community center gym. Anyone wishing to donate anything for this great cause should contact Nancy Bivens at 799-7343, Patti Mills at 294-3676 or Kathy J. Kendall at 485-0221.

Library Fundraisers Fulton County Library fundraisers have been extended to August 31. A child can lend a hand in decorating the newly renovated library by placing his or her handprint and name on a sixinch square ceramic tile to be displayed in appropriate locations at the library. Cost is a suggested $15 donation. Be a part of the library by inscribing name or names of a loved one on a brick paver to be placed in the patio area at the front entrance. A contribution of $50 purchases a paver. Application forms may be obtained at the library at 485-5327.
