Meyer - Miller Wed

Ray and Ann Meyer of Warfordsburg are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Matthew, to Joy Miller of Glens Falls, N.Y. The bride is the daughter of George and Julie Miller of Glens Falls, N.Y. The wedding took place May 30, 2009, at SonRise Lutheran Ministries Church Camp in Pottersville, N.Y. The ceremony was held at the camp's outdoor chapel overlooking Schroon Lake, and the reception followed immediately in the camp fellowship hall.

Officiating at the wedding was the Rev. Derek Lecakes, longtime friend of the bride's family. The bride's brother, John Miller, played the cello for the ceremony. Matthew's best man was Justin Crouse, of Las Vegas, Nev., while the maid of honor was the bride's sister, Valarie Miller of Glens Falls, N.Y. Groomsmen were Matthew's brothers: Andrew and Steven and high school friends: Creston Ward, Dustin Wills and Brett Clingerman. Bridesmaids were friends and relatives of the couple: Kristen Montgomery, Emily Madden, Michelle Crouse, Julie Blackman and Chelsea Rivers.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of Southern Fulton High School. He attended Slippery Rock University. He is currently a nuclear machinist mate, 2nd class in the U.S. Navy and is stationed on the USS Hampton submarine in San Diego, Calif. The bride is a 2001 graduate of Glens Falls Senior High School. She has a bachelor's degree in social work from Concordia College and a master's degree in social work from State University of New York at Albany. The couple currently resides in La Mesa, Calif., with their yellow lab puppy, Sandi.
